70s Rock

Rock n' Roll music is a term that seems like its been around since the beginning of time for most of us who grew up on it. Despite being so incredibly varied and evoloved it is in its most basic and foundational form a three chord story ! Add in a solid and obvious back beat and along with some catchy melody and hooks and you've defined a musical form that has entertained generations. Nascent Rock n' Roll evolved from an unlikely disparity of sources- Mostly blues with country, but also gospel, traditional pop, jazz and folk music. All of these catalysts were brewed together in a basic combined  blues based song structure that was quick, catchy, and you could dance to it. The pioneers of rock include but are not limited to - Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Bill Haley, the Everly Brothers. They set the boilerplate for the music that has been reproduced in its various iterations over the subsequent six decades up to today.  Over this time span, various artists became imitators of the originial rock sound such as revivalists, while others blew out the sound which was played harder, faster, stronger and louder. While on the other end of the spectrum it was softened and polished having a slicker sound than the sparser evolutionary days of the genre. The 70s was one of those great time periods in music where there was a flourish in what it had to offer the music world and we are happy to help you get a better grasp and understanding of the variety of sounds and inventions of Rock Music that came about. Enjoy !
